Edible Tagetes

Here are 3 edible Tagetes, each with their own enchanting taste, which can be used in desserts, salads and as a spice in cooking. They can also simply decorate the garden or in a pot on the terrace with their dense bushy growth and countless flowers well into autumn.

Citrontagetes, Signet Lemon, edible

Tagetes, Signet Lemon is a beautiful, edible herb suitable in pots or at the edge of the bed. The finely lobed, aromatic leaves and flowers smell and taste of lemon, and the plant becomes a dense bush 25-30 cm tall. Tagetes is one of the easiest flowers to have in your garden, it pretty much takes care of itself until the frost kills it. The plants become dense in beautiful green and sprinkled with sweet lemon yellow flowers. If you have places with worn out soil, you can sow lemongrass, as it cleans the soil.

Citrontagetes, Signet Lemon, edible

Tagetes, Signet Lemon has simple bright yellow flowers which come in true abundance over the summer. Last year my Tagetes survived until the frost. Both flowers and leaves are edible and super decorative in salads, on cakes etc.

The edible Tagetes, Signet Lemon is particularly suitable for ampels, flower boxes and at the edge of flower beds. The variety has been awarded the Fleuroselect Quality Award.

Cut off faded flowers to extend the flowering period.

Apelsintagetes, Orange Gem, edible

Tagetes, Orange Gem has the same good qualities as Citron tagetes and the whole plant also has edible flowers and leaves, however it grows somewhat taller, approx. 40 cm. It decorates the garden and blooms wildly and luxuriantly as small bushes the size of lavender.

The edible Tagetes, Orange Gem smells and tastes like sun-ripened sweet oranges. It blooms profusely and for a long time with its beautiful sun-orange flowers and is a decorative feature in the garden.

Lemon-mint Tagetes, Red Gem, edible

Red Save is also a wonderful, edible herb. Leaves and flowers have a fine, spicy note of lemon-mint and are often used as a spice in salads and cooking.

Edible Tagetes, Red Gem is a dense bush studded with simple, fiery red small flowers with a yellow center. The leaves are finely lobed and aromatic. It is very willing to flower and is suitable for flower borders, ampels and flower boxes and as a small hedge. Red Gem will be approx. 30 cm high.
